Norman John Rowe, known professionally as Normie Rowe, and born on February 1, 1947, in Melbourne, Australia, is a singer-songwriter. He began singing at a young age, forming amateur bands while attending Northcote High School. In 1965, Rowe released his debut single "It Ain't Necessarily So", which became a hit across Australian cities. His breakthrough came later that year with the double A-side "Que Sera Sera"/"Shakin' All Over" (1965), which topped charts nationwide and sold over 80,000 copies. Backed by the Playboys, Rowe released several EPs and albums, including A Wonderful Feeling (1965) and So Much Love from Normie Rowe (1966). He was named King of Pop by Go-Set in 1967 and 1968. However, his career was interrupted when he was drafted for National Service in late 1967, serving in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. After returning, Rowe pursued a career in theatre and television.
