Blac Monks, an American southern hip hop group originating from Houston, Texas, was active between 1993 and 1998. The group included members Mr. 3‑2, D.A., and Awol. Blac Monks debuted with the album Secrets of the Hidden Temple in 1994 through Rap‑A‑Lot Records, featuring the single "Buddha Nature" with Quiet Storm (Assata Tafari). The album reached number 65 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. In 1998, they followed with the album No Mercy, adding Assata Tafari and Raheem to the lineup and peaking at number 74 on the albums chart.
