David Robert Warner, born in 1953 in Bicton, Western Australia, is an Australian rock singer and songwriter. Warner formed the band Pus in 1973, which he described as Australia’s first punk band, before forming From the Suburbs in January 1977. The group signed with Mushroom Records and released the single “Suburban Boy” (1978), which reached number 31 on the Australian charts. The band's debut studio album, Mugs Game (1978), peaked at number 23 and achieved Gold certification within a month of its release. The follow-up album, Free Kicks (1979), reached number 34 before the band disbanded. Warner released the studio albums Correct Weight (1979) and This is My Planet (1981). Warner also released the compilation album Suburban Sprawl (1990) and the studio album When (2016). In 1992, Warner was inducted into the West Australian Music Industry Awards' Rock 'n' Roll of Renown.
