Deborah Conway, born on 8 August 1959 in Melbourne, Australia, is an Australian pop‑rock singer‑songwriter, record producer, model, and actress. She began performing at age 18 with the band The Benders. She rose to prominence as a founding member of the Sydney‑based group Do‑Ré‑Mi, whose 1985 single "Man Overboard" peaked at number 5 on the Australian Kent Music Report. After Do‑Ré‑Mi disbanded in 1988, Conway launched a solo career, releasing her debut album String of Pearls in 1991. The single, "It's Only the Beginning" reached number 19 on the ARIA Singles Chart and the album peaked at Number 20. She won the 1992 ARIA Award for Best Female Artist for this work. Her second studio album, Bitch Epic, issued in 1993, reached Number 18 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Subsequent releases included My Third Husband (1997), Exquisite Stereo (2000), Summertown (2004), Half Man Half Woman (2010), Everybody's Begging (2016).
