Wisecräcker, a ska-punk band from Hanover, Germany, was formed in 1997 by Alex “Dr. Klüse” Mende on saxophone and vocals, Eike “Keeex” Tongers on guitar, Robert “Mr. President” Priebe on guitar, Lars “Vegas” Iwersen on bass, and Jürgen “Jane” Wichert on drums. Their debut EP …de puta madre was released in 1999, while the track "H-Town is calling" was featured on SKA-Attack Vol. 2. The band's first full-length album, I’d rather be down with the… WISECRÄCKER, came out in 2001 and sold over 2,000 copies independently. Wisecräcker signed with Insight Booking in 2000 and began touring extensively. Notable albums include Para mi gente (2003), El Presidente (2005), The Pact (2010), and the best-of-album 15 Years / 15 Años (2012).
