Greg Wilson, born on February 22, 1960, is an English DJ and producer. He began as a teenage DJ in 1975, spinning soul, funk and jazz‑funk in local clubs. He gained national attention with a residency at Manchester’s Legend club in 1981, where he introduced early electro records to a predominantly black audience and became one of the United Kingdom’s pioneering DJs. In 1983, he was the first British DJ to mix live on television during Channel 4’s The Tube. After a period of production work, he returned to the decks in 2003 and released the compilation Credit to the Edit (2005), which revitalised his international profile. Subsequent releases include Summer Came My Way (2015) and Credit to the Edit Vol. 3 (2018). His work earned him the DJ Magazine Industry Icon Award in 2015, and his 2015 Essential Mix was named one of Rolling Stone magazine’s 25 greatest internet DJ mixes.
