Ainhoa Arteta Ibarrolaburu, also known as Ainhoa Arteta, was born on September 24, 1964, in Tolosa, Spain, and is a Spanish lyric singer with the tessitura of soprano. Her debut came in 1990 at the Palm Beach Opera as Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenicienta, followed by a performance in Fedora at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, where she met her husband, Dwayne Croft. She received the Premio Ondas in 2001 and the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes in 2015. She released several albums, including Don’t Give Up (2010) and Mayi (2015). She received the Txapeldun Award in 2019, becoming its first female recipient, was awarded the Dame Grand Cross of the Order of the Second of May in 2021, and was named an Honorary Academician of the Spanish Academy of Performing Arts in 2024.
