Yup

YUP, a Finnish rock band, was formed in 1987 by Jarkko Martikainen, Valtteri Tynkkynen, and Jussi Hyyrynen in Savonlinna. The group’s early work, including the EP Turpasauna! (1990), marked a shift to Finnish lyrics and more complex progressive rock arrangements. Over the next decade YUP released a series of albums, such as Toppatakkeja ja Toledon terästä (1994), Homo Sapiens (1994), Yövieraat (1996), Outo elämä (1998), which was regarded as their breakthrough, and Vapauden kaupungit (2008). In 2009, YUP announced an indefinite hiatus, returning in 2024 without Martikainen and under the name YUP Instrumental.
