Connie Martinez, better known professionally as Connie, is an American singer of freestyle music and dance-pop. Born and raised in Miami, Florida, she aspired to perform since childhood. Her debut single, “Funky Little Beat”, was released in 1985 under the executive production of Henry Stone and co-producer Amos Larkins II. In 1986, Martinez released her debut studio album, Connie, under Sunnyview Records, which was followed by the singles “Experience”, “Rock Me / I Can't Stop”, and “Get Down Tonight” in 1987. After taking a step back from the music scene in the early 1990s to raise her daughter, she returned to the studio and released the albums No Tears on April 16, 1995, and Let's Party on November 7, 2006. She has performed alongside acts such as Kool & The Gang, Evelyn "Champagne" King, Morris Day, and Taylor Dayne. Her compilation album, The Best of Connie, appeared on October 29, 2002. In 2015, she reunited with producer Amos Larkins to release the album Amos Larkins Presents Party Time 1 on August 25, 2015, and performs in concerts and clubs throughout the United States.
