Urban Trad was a Belgian world music group formed in 2000 by Yves Barbieux. The ensemble debuted with the studio album One O Four in 2001. Their second album, Kerua (2003), featured the hit single “Sanomi”, which represented Belgium at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 and secured a second-place finish. Subsequent albums, such as Elem (2004) and Erbalunga, released on March 33, 2007, blended traditional European music with modern genres like drum and bass, rap, and electro. To mark their tenth anniversary, the group issued the compilation album The Best of on April 15, 2010. Following an announcement of their dissolution, they performed a farewell concert on February 5, 2012, at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels. The group reformed in October 2014 and continued performing until a final concert in January 2020 marked their definitive separation. Notable long-time members of the group included vocalists Veronica Codesal and Soetkin Collier, and acoustic guitarist Philip Masure.
