Layna

Layna was a German Christian band established in 1996. The ensemble consisted of musicians Thea Eichholz, Bernd-Martin Müller, and Ingo Beckmann. Their recording career began with the debut studio recording Nicht nur wenn die Sonne scheint (1997) through the label Gerth Medien. The ensemble reached wider visibility for the studio recording Wohin sonst (2000). The eponymous title track from the work reached professional recognition as a standard hymn in various church hymnals. Layna released the collaborative concept studio recording Beschenkt: Lieder für Hoch- und andere Zeiten (2002), which featured the musicians Eberhard Rink and the ensemble Sharona. In March 2003, the ensemble performed as part of the international broadcast program ProChrist. Following the death of Müller in October 2003, the group announced its dissolution.
