Machete Avenue is a Canadian indie rock duo from London, Ontario, composed of lead vocalist Chad Michael Stewart and keyboardist Scott Parker. Formed in 2005, the group began performing in London and Toronto before releasing their debut EP, The First Cuts, later that year. The duo gained recognition by participating in Guelph's Wakestock festival in 2007 and winning London Music Awards in both 2007 and 2008. In 2008, they released their self-titled album, Machete Avenue. Percussionist Vince Jerzy joined the group that same year. The band performed and recorded together until early 2009, after which Stewart continued to perform alone under the name Machete Avenue. Notable songs include "Cut to Pieces" and "Hollow".
