Žagar, a Hungarian band from Budapest formed in 2001, is known for blending contemporary alternative, electronic, and psychedelic music. Initially known as Pulzus, they changed their name around the time they released their debut album Local Broadcast in 2002. The album was later recognized as one of Hungary's most important records by WAN2 magazine. The band gained significant attention with the soundtrack album Szezon.Eastern Sugar, which won the best soundtrack award in Hungary for 2005. They gained further recognition with their single"Wings Of Love" (2009), which earned heavy radio airplay, a Number 1 spot on MTV's video chart, and the Hungarian Record Industry's Fonogram Award. Žagar has performed extensively across Europe and supported Depeche Mode on their Tour of the Universe in Budapest in 2009.
