Farmer's Daughter was a Canadian country music group formed in 1992 by Jake Leiske, Shauna Rae Samograd, and Angela Kelman. Their debut album, Girls Will Be Girls, released independently in 1993, included hits like "Borderline Angel" and won Album of the Year at the British Columbia Country Music Association (BCCMA) awards in 1994. In 1996, they signed with Universal Music Canada and released Makin' Hay, which went gold and produced five hit singles including "Cornfields or Cadillacs". The group won numerous awards, including Group of the Year at the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) in 1997. Their third album, This Is the Life, was released in October 1998. Farmer's Daughter had their last tour in 2001 but did not disclose the reason of disbandment. The group was inducted into the British Columbia Country Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
