Zemial, a Greek metal band formed in 1989, was inspired by Bathory and Hellhammer/Celtic Frost. Their debut release was the EP Sleeping Under Tartarus (1993), recorded at Molon Lave Studio. The band's early work featured an electronic drum kit played by Necrosauron of Rotting Christ. Zemial's debut album, For the Glory of UR, showcased a sound closer to Hellhammer and Bathory, produced with different equipment. The band relocated to Germany in 2006 and released In Monumentum (2006), which was included in Rock Hard’s list of 250 Black Metal Albums You Should Know. In 2013, the band released Nykta.
