Comatose Vigil is a Russian funeral doom metal band formed in Moscow in 2003. The band emerged as one of the early Russian acts in the funeral doom genre, initially recording rehearsals and circulating edited demos among friends. They released their debut album, Not a Gleam of Hope, in 2005 through Marche Funebre Productions after signing with Stygian Crypt Productions. Their follow-up release, Narcosis EP, arrived in 2006, followed by their second full-length album, Fuimus, non Sumus..., in 2011, recorded at Primordial Studio and mastered by Greg Chandler. The band was also involved in organizing the annual Moscow DOOM Festival through keyboardist ZiGR’s promotion group Sepulture Union. After disbanding in 2012, Comatose Vigil reunited in 2014 and returned to the stage in 2015 at the Petrdoom 3 festival.
