Tiago de Albergaria Pinheiro Goulart de Bettencourt, known as Tiago Bettencourt, and born on September 16, 1979, in Coimbra, Portugal, is a singer-songwriter. He began his musical career as the lead singer of the band Toranja, which released their debut album Esquissos in 2003. The band went on hiatus in 2006. Bettencourt then moved to Canada to record his first solo album, O Jardim, released in 2007 and featuring the hit song "Canção Simples". His subsequent albums include Em Fuga (2010), Tiago Na Toca & Os Poetas (2011) and Do Princípio in 2014, which featured the politically charged song "Aquilo Que Eu Não Fiz". His follow-up album 2019 Rumo ao Eclipse was released in 2020.
