Abbruch, a German punk band from Gosen-Neu Zittau, Brandenburg, was formed in 2004 by brothers René and Daniel Behrendt along with drummer René Hardt. The siblings' early musical training included Blockflöte, Klavier, and Gitarre under the influence of their parents, who were conductors and musicians. Abbruch's first demo CD was released within three weeks of formation and sold at local concerts in Berlin. Their breakthrough came in 2005 when they participated in the Rock Oder-Spree band competition, finishing in fifth place, followed by third place in 2006. This led to their debut album Einfach nur Musik (2009) with Puke Music. The band's subsequent albums include Aus dem Keller (2011), Nimmerland (2013), and Bunt ist besser (2015). In 2018, they released Lieber Linksextrem, addressing themes like left-wing extremism and prohibitionist policies.
