Galibot is a melodic black metal band — but also the name given to children sent to work in the coal mines of Northern France, where the quintet originates.
Formed in 2023 by Thomas, Agathe, and Clément, Galibot began as a studio project, drawing a parallel between the raw, visceral darkness of coal and the essence of black metal. The first demo emerged in Wallers-Arenberg, a town deeply scarred by the mining industry.
In early 2026, the band releases an alternative version of its debut album, Euch’Mau Noir bis, through Les Acteurs de l’Ombre Productions.
After the release of Euch’Mau Noir, Galibot evolved into a live act with the addition of Julian and Rob. Now a five-piece, the band is set to release its second album in May via Les Acteurs de l’Ombre Productions, and will take to the road to deliver a cavernous live experience forged in fire and ash.
