Du Bartas, a French instrumental and vocal group based in Aude and Hérault, was formed in 2006 by Laurent Cavalié, Jocelyn Papon, and Pascal Tenza. The trio initially released their debut album Turbo Balèti in 2007 under the label Sirventés. Their repertoire primarily featured traditional Occitan songs with occasional Arabic chants. In 2012, Du Bartas transitioned to performing original compositions that blended social commentary and poetic themes reflecting the history of the Mediterranean Languedoc. The group expanded to five members: Titouan Billon, Abdelatef Bousbiba, Cavalié, Clément Chauvet, and Papon. They released several albums, including Es Contra Ta Pèl (2012) and Tant Que Vira (2013). Du Bartas performed extensively across France and Occitanie at festivals such as Les Vieilles Charrues and Estivada de Rodez, as well as various venues like the Théâtre de Narbonne. Their final concert took place in November 2021.
