Dzeltenie Pastnieki, formed in 1979 in Riga, Latvia, are a pioneering synthpop music group known for their contributions to new wave and reggae in Latvia and the former Soviet Union. The core members included Ingus Baušķenieks on bass, keyboards, and vocals, and Viesturs Slava on guitar, keyboards, and vocals. Their early days involved performing covers at dance events before recording their debut album Bolderājas dzelzceļš in 1981 under the name Jaunais Sarkanais Karalis. The band's first six albums were home-recorded, with notable releases including Man ļoti patīk jaunais vilnis (1982) and Alise (1984). Their work influenced the Latvian music scene significantly, as noted by composer Mārtiņš Brauns. The band's album Kaķis was released in 2003.
