Destrophy, an American alternative metal band from Des Moines, Iowa, was formed in 1992 by singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer Aristotle Mihalopoulos. The band's original lineup included high school classmates Stuart Urban, Heath Meyer, and John Sales. Destrophy began performing at local venues and talent shows during the mid-1990s. In 2003, they released their first self-produced album, Chrysalis, on Inner Light Records, which featured the lead track "Let It Go" and a cover of Real Life's "Send Me an Angel". The band signed with Victory Records in 2009 and released their eponymous debut album, featuring the single "Reconnect", which was used by TNA wrestler Jesse Neal as his entrance theme. Destrophy's next album, Cry Havoc (2011), included the single "Closer" and featured guest guitar solos from Corey Lowery of Eye Empire. The band has performed with notable artists such as Korn, Disturbed, and Five Finger Death Punch.
