Originally from the UK and now based in Paris, France(Came for work and stayed for love), iammilan is an artist crafting emotive electronic pop music. With a sound rooted in synth-driven melodies and evocative lyrics. Often compared to the iconic Pet Shop Boys, iammilan creates a bridge between nostalgia and modern electronic soundscapes.
iammilan has released two full-length albums to date. His debut album, Empathic (2016), introduced his heartfelt and determined artistic vision. Tracks like "Miracle (Take My Heart)," "The Hardest Thing I’ve Ever Done," "Let Us Go," "Hello Beautiful," gained significant recognition, with several songs receiving airplay on BBC Radio Norfolk through the BBC Introducing program.
Several radio shows in the London Synth scene regularly play iammilan tracks including the mighty Rob Harvey with SynthCity on Phoenix FM(London based station)
In 2020, iammilan followed up with his sophomore album, Reveal, showcasing a more refined sound that further solidified his place in the electronic pop world. The album features standout singles including "Sight for Sore Eyes," "Bless," and "Why Would I Lie to You?" Reveal captures themes of introspection, honesty, and emotional connection, earning praise from fans and critics alike.
Described as a "hidden gem" by La Parisienne Life, iammilan's artistry is influenced by the legendary London electropop scene.
In 2022 the artist released a cover of the iconic 80’s track “Somebody’s Watching Me” giving it a British spin. The song was used several times on French TV(To this day I have no idea how it was used)
In the summer of 2024 the artist released the unusually titled “gibberish(show me
excited)”, cheekily sampling pet shop boys (did anyone notice?) The track was later added as one of the top 50 tracks of 2024 by Synthology (with Greg Warum) on Pastel FM in France.
In late 2024, iammilan joined the label Retrosynth Records, marking a new chapter in his career. With the support of the label, his creative vision continues to flourish, blending retro-inspired synths with contemporary production. First single with Retrosyth will be “let’s make a pact(je t’aime)” to be released at the end of January.
