Sergeant were a Scottish indie rock band from Glenrothes in Fife, formed in 2004. The group consisted of Nick Mercer on vocals, Scott Duncan on guitars, Bill Anderson on bass, and Rory Buchanan on drums and percussion. In 2007, Sergeant signed with Mercury Records and released their self-titled EP Sergeant. That same year, they performed at major festivals such as T in the Park and Glastonbury, garnering positive reviews for their live performances. The band supported Oasis on four Scottish dates and the Fratellis on their full UK tour. In 2008, Sergeant released their first single "K-Ok" followed by "Sunshine". Their debut album Sergeant was released in October 2009. The band disbanded in 2010 but reformed for a one-off gig in Glenrothes in June 2018 to celebrate the town's 70th anniversary.
