Windy & Carl is an American space rock duo based in Dearborn, Michigan, United States, formed in 1993 by guitarist Carl Hultgren and bassist and singer Windy Weber. Hultgren self-released the cassette tape Portal in 1992 before teaming up with Weber, which was later reissued on CD. They participated in Darla Records' Bliss Out Series in 1997, contributing the maxi-EP Antarctica. In 1997, they released the limited-edition album A Dream of Blue and embarked on a European tour with Silver Apples. They released the albums Depths in 1998, Consciousness in 2001, The Dream House in 2005, and Songs for the Broken Hearted in 2008. They were a mainstay of the various Terrastock music festivals. In 2007, they joined Mono, Masakatsu Takagi, and Yellow 6 to compose music for the film August Evening. They released the albums We Will Always Be in 2012, Allegiance and Conviction in 2020, and Heavy Early & The Creation of Venus in 2024. In 1999, they started a record store called Stormy Records, which operated until 2021.
