SIG:AR:TYR, a Canadian musical group, was founded in 2003 by multi-instrumentalist Daemonskald in Ontario. The band's name is derived from runes and influenced by Michael Moorcock’s fantasy literature. SIG:AR:TYR released their first EP, The Stranger, in 2003, followed by their first album Sailing the Seas of Fate under Morbid Winter Records in 2005. The project evolved into a full band in 2013, featuring Michael Grund on guitar and Nich Ireland on drums, both previously from Battlesoul, along with Morgan Rider on bass. SIG:AR:TYR signed with Hammerheart Records in 2015 and released Northen in 2016, as well as Citadel of Stars in 2024. Notable contributions to compilations include "Blood of the North" on In Autumnal Fog - Chapter I: Under the Rising Storm (2008) and "Midwinter Sacrifice" on Hammer Smashed Faith II (2015).
