Adrian Crowley, born in 1968 in Sliema, Malta, is an Irish singer raised in Galway. Before his music career, he explored architecture, illustration, painting, and photography. His debut album, A Strange Kind, was released independently in 1999. In 2002, he followed up with When You Are Here You Are Family, recorded at Steve Albini's Electrical Audio studios in Chicago. Crowley gained recognition with subsequent albums like Long Distance Swimmer (2007), which received positive reviews and was nominated for the Choice Music Prize. His album Season of the Sparks (2009) won the Choice Music Prize for Irish Album of the Year. Notable collaborations include working with Thomas Bartlett on his 2017 album Dark Eyed Messenger. Crowley has also composed film scores, including for Where The Sea Used To Be (2012), and his song "The Wishing Seat" was featured in Love Eternal (2014).
