Lift to Experience, an American indie rock band from Denton, Texas, formed in 1996 with vocalist and guitarist Josh T. Pearson, drummer Andy "The Boy" Young, and bassist Josh "The Bear" Browning. The band's breakthrough moment came at the South by Southwest festival in 2000 when they impressed Simon Raymonde and Robin Guthrie, leading to a signing with Bella Union. The double-disc concept album, The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads, was released in 2001, featuring Biblical Christian imagery and a multilayered Wall of Sound aesthetic. The band performed three times on the John Peel BBC Radio 1 show and gained critical acclaim for their unique sound. Following a period of inactivity, Lift to Experience reunited in 2016 for a performance at London's Royal Festival Hall. In February 2017, they released The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads 15th Anniversary Edition, remixed by the band and Matt Pence.
