Katarina Hasprova

Katarína Hasprová is a Slovak singer and actress born on September 10, 1972, in Bratislava. She studied musical theater at the Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno and performed in productions such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and West Side Story. Hasprová began her solo recording career after winning the Bratislavská lýra festival in 1997 with the song "Jedno zbohom". This victory earned her the right to represent Slovakia at the Eurovision Song Contest 1998 with the song "Modlitba", which was released on March 9, 1998. During the contest in Birmingham, she performed in the 6th position and placed 21st out of 25 countries with 8 points. Her recording career included the debut eponymous studio recording Katarína Hasprová (1999) followed by the studio recording Chvíľu so mnou leť (2002). Hasprová received the Thálie Award in 2017 for her performance in the musical Rebecca.
