Blonde on Blonde was a Welsh musical group from South Wales, formed in Newport in 1967. The band consisted of vocalist/guitarist Ralph Denyer, drummer Les Hicks, bassist/organist Richard Hopkins, and guitarist/sitar player Gareth Johnson. Named after Bob Dylan's 1966 album Blonde on Blonde, the group released their single "All Day All Night / Country Life" in 1968. The following year, they signed to Pye Records and released their first album, Contrasts. In 1970, after personnel changes that saw Ralph Denyer replaced by David Thomas, Blonde on Blonde released Rebirth on Ember Records. Their final album, Reflections on a Life, was released in 1971. Despite modest commercial success, the band disbanded in early 1972. Ralph Denyer died in 2011, while Richard Hopkins and Les Hicks both passed away in October 2022.
