The Strange Boys were an American rock band formed in 2001 in Dallas, Texas by Ryan Sambol and Matt Hammer. Initially a punk duo, they expanded to include Ryan's brother Philip on bass in 2003. Their debut release, the Nothing EP, came out in 2007 via Dusty Medical Records. In 2009, The Strange Boys released their first full-length album, The Strange Boys and Girls Club, through In the Red Records. The band underwent several lineup changes, notably adding Jenna E. Thornhill DeWitt on saxophone and Tim Presley on backing vocals in late 2009. Their second album, Be Brave, was released in 2010; the title track from Be Brave was used in a Dell commercial. The band's final album, Live Music, was released exclusively on Rough Trade in 2011. The band disbanded in 2012.
