Brown Bag AllStars is an American hip hop group formed in 2007 in Brooklyn, New York, while its members—J57, The Audible Doctor, Soul Khan, DeeJay Element, and DJ E Holla—were interning at Fat Beats. Their early collaboration on beats produced by J57 and The Audible Doctor led to the release of their debut mixtape, The Brown Tape, on August 4, 2009, through Coalmine Records. The group released yearly A Year In Review compilations, and in 2011 issued Brown Bag Season Vol. 1, featuring guest appearances from DJ Brace and Marco Polo. In 2013, the group earned a spot on AllHipHop's "Top 50 In Underground Hip-Hop" list. Their 2014 album, Brown Label Part 1 & 2, was distributed by Brown Bag Records and Soulspazm, solidifying their presence in East Coast hip hop.
