Luis Osmer Meza, known as Luis Alberto del Paraná, was born on June 21, 1926, in Altos, Paraguay. He began his musical career at sixteen, representing Campo Grande in a local contest. In 1953, he formed Trío Los Paraguayos with Digno García and Agustín Barboza, touring Europe under government sponsorship. The trio disbanded, leading to the formation of Los Paraguayos with his brother Reynaldo Meza, Rubito Medina, and José de los Santos González. They released albums such as Famous Latin American Songs and Ambassador of Romance. Del Paraná's career included over 500 recorded songs and tours across more than 76 countries, with notable performances at venues like Madison Square Garden in New York and the Olympia in Paris. He died on September 15, 1974, in London due to a cerebral hemorrhage.
