Snot is an American funk metal, nu metal, and hardcore punk band from Santa Barbara, California, formed in 1995 by vocalist Lynn Strait and lead guitarist Mikey Doling. The group's debut studio album, Get Some, was released on May 13, 1997, through Geffen Records. Snot gained attention with its performance on the 1998 Ozzfest tour. Strait died in a car accident on December 11, 1998, leading to the band's initial disbandment. Following the death of Strait, friends of the band completed the tribute album Strait Up, which was released on November 7, 2000. The album featured appearances by various vocalists and peaked at number 56 on the Billboard 200. The band's live album, Alive!, was released on July 30, 2002, peaking at number 12 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Snot reformed multiple times over the years with different vocalists, including Tommy Vext, Carl Bensley, and Andy Knapp. In July 2025, the group entered the studio to record new material, and by May 2026, it completed eight songs for an upcoming album.
