Ofermod, a Swedish black/death metal band from Norrköping, was formed in 1996 by Mika "Belfagor" Hakola. The group initially recorded the single "Mystérion Tés Anomias" in January 1998 at Necromorbus studio and released it through Pounding Metal Productions. However, a planned debut album was cancelled. In 2004, after a hiatus due to Hakola's occult studies and prison sentences, Ofermod reformed with new members, including Tore "Shiva" Stjerna on drums. The band's debut album Pentagrammaton was delayed multiple times due to legal issues, but was eventually released in 2008 as Tiamtü. Their second album, Thaumiel, was released in 2012 with J. Kvarnbrink on vocals and guitar. Ofermod continued with releases such as the EP Serpents Dance (2014) and the full-length albums Sol Nox (2017), Pentagrammaton (2020), and Mysterium Iniquitatis (2021).
