Palm Springs is a British chamber pop band that formed in 2004. The ensemble consists of the duo Cane and Russo, who are responsible for a wide range of instrumentation including vocals, guitars, keyboards, and programming. They achieved professional recognition for a distinctive sound characterized by the use of unconventional instruments such as the Casio VL-Tone and glockenspiel. The group is famous for their debut studio recording, No Hurt Like a Broken Heart (2007), which received significant critical acclaim and was ranked as the second-best album of 2006 by the German edition of Rolling Stone. Their discography includes the singles “Tender Remains” (2004), “Echo of Me” (2005), and “Softly to Fallen” (2006). The ensemble’s later work includes the studio recording The Hope That Kills You (2010), which featured the tracks “Free Atlas” (2009) and “I Start Fires” (2010).
