Les Mangelepa, a musical group from Kenya, was formed in 1976 as a splinter of Baba Gaston’s Baba National. The original bandleader was Bwamy Walumona, known as Le Capitaine. Les Mangelepa gained significant popularity during the '70s and '80s with hits such as "Embakasi", "Maindusa", "Walter", "Safari ya Mangelepa", "Odesia", "Dracula" and "Maboko Pamba". Bwamy Walumona left Les Mangelepa in 1986 after converting to Christianity. The band continued with further line-up changes, including a period led by Kabila Kabanze Evany. In 2017, they released their album Last Band Standing. As of 2011, the group was still performing, showcasing their endurance and musical prowess at Club Vibro in Nairobi.
