Stefan Prins, born May 20, 1979, in Kortrijk, Belgium, is a composer and performer. He studied composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp and specialized in sonology at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. His music was performed internationally at festivals such as the Donaueschingen Festival and ECLAT Festival. Ensembles that performed his work include Nadar Ensemble, Klangforum Wien, and Ensemble Nikel. Prins served as co-artistic director of Nadar Ensemble and was a founding member of Ministry of Bad Decisions and collectief reFLEXible. He received several awards, including the Kunstpreis Berlin für Musik (2016) and the ISCM Young Composers Award (2014). His compositions include "under_current" (2021) and "Third Space" (2018). His discography includes the albums Fremdkörper (2012) and Augmented (2019).
