Closterkeller, a Polish gothic rock band from Warsaw, was formed in 1988 by Przemysław Guryń, Jacek Skirucha, and vocalist Anja Orthodox. The band's characteristic sound emerged despite numerous lineup changes, with Orthodox remaining the sole original member continuously performing for over three decades. Closterkeller released their debut album Purple in 1990, followed by Blue in 1992. Notable The band's third album, Violet, was released in 1993. Closterkeller continued to release albums throughout the 1990s and 2000s, including Scarlet (1995), Cyan (1996), and Graphite (1999). The band's influence extended to other groups like Delight, Moonlight, and Artrosis, who cited Closterkeller as an inspiration.
