Sixteen was a Polish pop band formed in 1997, later performing under the names Seventeen and Sixteen-Seventeen. The group emerged in June 1997 with the single “Spadające myśli,” followed by “Twoja lawa,” which reached Number 1 on the Wietrzne Radio chart. Their debut album, Lawa, was released in 1997 and achieved platinum status after selling more than 100,000 copies. The band represented Poland at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest in Birmingham with “To takie proste,” finishing 17th in the final. That same year, bandleader and principal songwriter Jarosław Pruszkowski died, leading Renata Dąbkowska to pursue a solo career while the remaining members continued under the name Seventeen, later also using Sixteen-Seventeen. The group released Szalona in 1999 and Chłopak i Dziewczyna in 2001, although neither matched the success of Lawa. In 2004, they released “Ulica i Ty,” intended to introduce a new album and the band's return, but the planned album was never released.
