Noumena is a Finnish melodic death metal band from Ähtäri, formed in 1998. The group consists of vocalist Antti Haapanen, guitarists Tuukka Tuomela and Ville Lamminaho, bassist Hannu Savolainen, drummer Ilkka Unnbom, and female vocalist Suvi Uura. The band name is derived from the ancient Greek philosophical term nooumenon. Following the early demos Aeons (1998) and For the Fragile One (1999), the group signed with a Singaporean record label that went bankrupt shortly after. In August 2002, the band released the debut studio album Pride/Fall on Catharsis Records. Other releases include the studio albums Absence (2005), Anatomy of Life (2006), and the EP Triumph and Loss (2006). After founding their own label, Haunted Zoo Productions, in 2012, the group released Death Walks With Me (2013), Myrrys (2017)—which features the song “Metsän Viha”—and Anima (2020).
