Quarteto 1111

Quarteto 1111, a Portuguese rock band, was formed in Estoril in 1967 by Miguel Artur da Silveira, José Cid, António Moniz Pereira, and Jorge Moniz Pereira. Initially known as Conjunto Mistério, they changed their name to Quarteto 1111 after the phone number of their rehearsal space. Their breakthrough came with the hit single "A Lenda De El Rei D. Sebastião" in 1967, which introduced the harpsichord into Portuguese rock music. Notable albums include Quarteto 1111 (1970) and Bruma Azul Do Desejado (1973). The band evolved towards a pop sound, with members José Cid and Tozé Brito pursuing solo careers. Quarteto 1111 disbanded in 1977.
