Øystein Wiik, born on July 7, 1956, in Ås near Oslo, Norway, is a Norwegian actor and singer. He began his career working for various theaters, including the Nationale Scene, Oslo Nye Teater, and Det Norske Teatret. His musical journey started with roles in several musicals, notably performing as Jean Valjean in Les Misérables from 1989 to 1990. Wiik's discography includes albums such as Too Many Mornings, Songs by Sondheim (1991) and Stage (1993). In addition to his acting and singing career, he has also written several musical librettos, including the Norwegian music comedy Optimist, which premiered on September 12, 2019. Wiik collaborated with composer Gisle Kverndokk on multiple musicals that were performed in both Norway and Germany.
