This City was an English nu rave and emo band from Brighton, England. Formed in 2006, the group featured members Chris Purr, Grant Coleman, Arran Day, George Travis, and Nick Burdett, following the departure of original drummer Jason Adelinia. Their early career included the release of the single “Romantic” / “With Loaded Guns” (2007), which peaked at number 26 on the UK Independent Singles Chart, and the single “Kids with Fireworks” (2009). They gained further exposure through their appearance on the television competition Orange unsignedAct in 2007, which they subsequently withdrew from, and performed a live session for BBC Radio 1 on the Huw Stephens show. In 2008, the band performed at the Latitude Festival and Redfest, and supported the band A on a 10-date UK tour in December 2009. Their debut studio album, We Were Like Sharks, was released in 2009.
