The Ghost of a Thousand was an English punk rock band from Brighton. Formed in 2004, the group consisted of singer Tom Lacey, guitarists Jag Jago and Andy Blyth, drummer Memby Jago and bassist Gaz Spencer. The band released its debut studio album, This Is Where the Fight Begins, in 2007 through Undergroove Records. The record was named the number 6 best album of 2007 on the Kerrang! Critics Choice list. In 2008, the ensemble issued the TwoByThree EP. After signing with Epitaph Records, the group released its second album, New Hopes, New Demonstrations, in 2009. The recording was produced by Pelle Gunnerfeldt and featured the song “Bright Lights”. The band performed at festivals including Download, Reading and Leeds. The group announced its breakup in 2011 after a final show at the Hevy Festival. In 2012, the ensemble reunited to support Alexisonfire on their farewell tour.
