Dean Magraw, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an American guitarist and composer who began playing guitar at age 13. He started his music career performing in a duo with Peter Ostroushko and collaborated with various artists such as Tim Sparks and John Gorka. His musical journey spans multiple genres, from world music band Boiled in Lead to jazz band Red Planet. Magraw released his debut solo album Broken Silence in 1994. He continued to release albums including Kitchen Man (1997), Seventh One (1997), and Heavy Meadow (2003). His work also includes collaborations such as the duo album with Peter Ostroushko, Jaguar at Half Moon Lake (1998), and the album Unseen Rain (2007) with Jim Anton and JT Bates. Magraw's discography reflects his versatility, encompassing genres like acoustic music, world music, and jazz.
