The Loves, a Welsh popular music group formed in Cardiff, Wales in 2000. Their debut album, Love, was released on Track and Field Records in 2004, but received generally hostile press coverage and was commercially unsuccessful. The band recorded four Peel sessions between 2001 and 2002. Their second album, Technicolour, was released in 2007 on Fortuna Pop!. Notable collaborations included Rob Jones, aka The Voluntary Butler Scheme, Delia Sparrow, Darren Hayman of Hefner, and Daniel Maier. The Loves' third album, Three, also released on Fortuna Pop in 2009, featured these guest appearances. Their fourth and final album, ...Love You, was released in 2011 and included a vocal performance by Doug Yule of The Velvet Underground as the voice of Jesus. Notable singles include "Little Girl Blues / She'll Break Your Heart", "December Boy", and "Bubblegum".
