Bongo Maffin, a South African kwaito music group, was formed in 1996 by DJ Jah Seed in Johannesburg. Other members included Stoan Seate, Speedy, and Thandiswa Mazwai. Bongo Maffin gained significant attention with their debut album Leaders of D'Gong in 1997, followed by The Concerto in 1998, which won Best African Pop Album at the South African Music Awards. Their subsequent albums included Bongolution (2001) and New Construction (2005). After the band split in 2006, Mazwai released her debut solo album, Zabalaza. The group reunited in 2019 and released a new album, From Bongo With Love.
