The Tangerine Zoo was an American psychedelic rock band from Massachusetts that was active between 1966 and 1970. The ensemble evolved from a garage band named the Ebb Tides, which released the single “My Baby's Gone” (1966) featuring a cover of the song “Summertime”. After briefly performing as the Flower Pot, the group signed with Mainstream Records and adopted their final name. They achieved regional popularity as part of the “Bosstown Sound” scene. Their discography includes their eponymous debut studio album, Tangerine Zoo (1968), which featured a rendition of the track “Gloria”, and the studio recording Outside Looking In (1968). The ensemble is famous for declining an invitation to perform at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 due to other commitments. The group disbanded in 1970.
