Mark Lewis Fry, also known as Mark Fry, was born on November 4, 1952, in Epping, Essex. He is a British musician and painter who began his music career after studying at Dartington Hall School and the Accademia di Belle Arti in Florence. His album Dreaming with Alice was released in 1972 on IT Dischi. Fry toured Italy supporting singer Lucio Dalla before returning to England. In the early 2000s, he discovered that his album had gained cult status as a psychedelic folk classic. The album was reissued by Sunbeam Records in 2006, and Fry released Shooting the Moon in 2008. He has collaborated with artists such as Nick Franglen of Lemon Jelly and The A.Lords, resulting in albums like I Lived in Trees. In April 2013, Fry played three concerts in Tokyo, which resulted in a live album, Mark Fry Live in Japan, released in 2014, followed by South Wind, Clear Sky, and Not on the Radar (2025).
